Jaguar
Jaguar was Produced by the Theatre of Note in Los Angeles, 1986 with a brilliant cast, directed by Rock Habib. Score by Bob Lesoine. I was pretty full of myself after the success of 2000 Fish and I thought I could write two unrelated narratives, shifting scenes back and forth between the two, and create a resonance, a third thing, that would rise out of the two. Yeah? Ahh youth. I was wrong. I admire the attempt but I definitely got my hand slapped by the press. Mercifully there was only one production of Jaguar. ( When I bemoaned the bad review to my friend and mentor, Colin Wilcox, he said, “Yeah Jeff, but a bad review in the LA Times? It’s a very classy problem.”
